TERMS AND CONDITIONS
These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the HiRec website, membership platform, resources and services.
Please read them carefully before purchasing a HiRec membership.
1. About HiRec
HiRec is operated by:
HiRec Ltd
Company number: 17391436
Registered office:
5 Brayford Square
London
E1 0SG
Email: [email protected]
HiRec Ltd is registered in England and Wales.
HiRec provides practical HR and recruitment resources, templates, guides, training and other information designed to help business owners recruit, employ, manage and support their people.
2. These Terms
By purchasing a HiRec membership, creating an account or using the HiRec platform, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
If you purchase HiRec on behalf of a business or organisation, you confirm that you have authority to enter into this agreement on its behalf.
Some customers may purchase HiRec wholly or mainly for business purposes, while others may qualify as consumers under UK law.
Where you are legally a consumer, nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts any statutory rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
3. HiRec Membership
HiRec is provided as a monthly subscription membership.
Your membership gives you access to the resources available within the HiRec platform during your active subscription. These may include:
• HR and recruitment templates
• Policies and example documents
• Guides and checklists
• Training and educational resources
• Recruitment resources
• People management processes and guidance
• New and updated resources added to HiRec
The exact content of HiRec may change over time as we update, improve and expand the platform.
4. Membership Price
HiRec membership costs £57 per month, unless a different price or promotional offer is clearly stated when you purchase.
HiRec Ltd is not currently VAT registered and no VAT is added to the £57 membership price.
The £57 shown at checkout is therefore the total monthly subscription price payable.
Your subscription will renew automatically each month until you cancel.
The price, billing frequency and recurring nature of the subscription will be clearly displayed before you complete your purchase.
There is no minimum membership term.
5. Payment
Your first payment is taken when you join HiRec.
Your subscription will then renew monthly on your recurring billing date until you cancel.
By purchasing a membership, you authorise our payment provider to collect the recurring monthly subscription payment using the payment method you provide.
If a payment cannot be collected, we may attempt to collect it again and may suspend access to HiRec until payment has been made.
We will not charge you for a further membership period after your cancellation has taken effect.
6. Cancelling Your Membership
You can cancel your HiRec membership at any time.
There is no cancellation fee and no minimum notice period.
Unless your statutory rights require otherwise, cancellation will take effect at the end of the monthly period you have already paid for.
For example, if your monthly subscription renews on the 10th of each month and you cancel on the 20th, you will normally continue to have access until the end of the period for which you have already paid. Your membership will then end and no further monthly payment will be taken.
You can cancel through the cancellation facilities provided within your account, where available, or by emailing [email protected].
We will not deliberately make cancellation more difficult than joining HiRec.
Current CMA guidance places particular emphasis on clear subscription terms, reasonable cancellation arrangements and avoiding excessive barriers or charges when customers wish to leave. GOV.UK
7. Immediate Access and Consumer Cancellation Rights
Your HiRec membership provides immediate access to an online platform containing digital resources as well as ongoing membership services.
If you are purchasing as a consumer, you may have statutory cancellation rights under UK consumer law.
Where you ask us to provide digital content immediately, before the end of an applicable statutory cancellation period, we will ask you to:
• expressly consent to the supply of that digital content beginning immediately; and
• acknowledge that once supply of the relevant digital content begins, you may lose your statutory right to cancel in relation to that digital content.
Where an ongoing service begins during an applicable cancellation period at your express request, different statutory rules may apply. Nothing in these Terms removes any cancellation or refund right that the law requires us to provide.
Where you have a statutory right to cancel, you may notify us by emailing [email protected] or by using the model cancellation form at the end of these Terms.
Government guidance specifically requires express agreement to immediate supply of digital content and acknowledgement of the effect on the 14 day cancellation right. GOV.UK
8. Refunds
Because HiRec is a monthly membership providing immediate access to resources and ongoing services, we do not normally provide refunds simply because you decide not to use your membership or forget to cancel before your next monthly payment.
This does not affect any statutory right you may have to a refund, price reduction or other remedy.
If you believe a payment has been taken incorrectly or that you are legally entitled to a refund, please contact [email protected].
9. Using HiRec Resources
While your membership is active, you may access and download HiRec resources for use within the business or organisation for which the membership was purchased.
You may adapt appropriate templates and documents for the genuine internal needs of that business.
Resources legitimately downloaded and adapted for your own business during an active membership may continue to be used by that business after the membership ends.
However, when your membership ends, you will no longer have access to:
• The HiRec platform
• New resources
• Updated or revised versions of resources
• Member training or guidance
• Other membership content or services
We recommend using the most recent version of a HiRec resource available through your membership.
10. What You Must Not Do
Your HiRec membership is for the business or organisation for which it was purchased.
Unless we agree otherwise in writing, you must not:
• Sell, licence or commercially exploit HiRec resources
• Share your membership with unrelated businesses
• Give another business access to your HiRec account
• Distribute HiRec templates or resources to third parties for their use
• Publish HiRec resources publicly or make them freely available online
• Copy substantial parts of HiRec to create a competing product, membership, training programme or resource library
• Remove copyright or ownership notices where applicable
• Claim HiRec materials as your own original products
If you are an HR adviser, recruitment consultant, business adviser or other professional wishing to use HiRec resources across multiple client businesses, please contact us to discuss an appropriate arrangement.
11. Intellectual Property
Unless stated otherwise, the content within HiRec, including its templates, documents, guides, training materials, videos, graphics, processes and other resources, is owned by or licensed to HiRec Ltd and is protected by applicable intellectual property law.
Purchasing a membership gives you permission to use HiRec resources in accordance with these Terms.
It does not transfer ownership of HiRec intellectual property to you.
12. HR and Recruitment Guidance
HiRec is designed to provide practical HR and recruitment information, resources, templates and guidance.
HiRec does not provide individual legal advice and membership does not create a solicitor and client relationship.
Employment situations can depend on individual circumstances, contractual arrangements and the particular facts involved. Templates and general guidance may therefore need to be adapted for your business and the situation concerned.
You remain responsible for decisions you make about your employees, workers, candidates and business.
Where a matter is complex, contentious or carries significant legal or financial risk, you should obtain appropriate professional advice relevant to your circumstances.
13. Keeping Resources Up to Date
We aim to keep HiRec resources useful, relevant and up to date and may review or amend them to reflect changes in law, regulatory guidance, good practice or the way HiRec operates.
However, employment law and regulatory guidance can change.
A resource downloaded at a particular point in time should therefore not be assumed to remain current indefinitely.
Members should use the current version available within HiRec wherever possible.
If you cancel your membership, you will not receive future updates to previously downloaded resources unless you regain access through an active membership.
14. Your Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
• Providing accurate information when creating and maintaining your account
• Keeping your login details secure
• Using HiRec resources appropriately
• Deciding whether a template or resource is suitable for your circumstances
• Completing and adapting documents accurately where necessary
• Following applicable employment, equality, data protection and other laws relevant to your business
• Obtaining specialist professional advice where appropriate
You must not use HiRec for any unlawful, fraudulent or abusive purpose.
15. Availability of HiRec
We aim to make HiRec available reliably, but we cannot guarantee that the website or platform will be available without interruption at all times.
Access may occasionally be affected by maintenance, updates, technical problems or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Where reasonably possible, we will seek to minimise disruption.
16. Changes to HiRec
We may improve, update, replace or remove individual resources or features as HiRec develops.
We will not make changes that materially reduce the core membership service without good reason.
If we make a significant change that materially disadvantages you, we will provide reasonable notice where practicable and any rights you have under applicable law will continue to apply.
17. Changes to the Membership Price
We may change the price of HiRec in the future.
A price change will not be applied retrospectively.
If a price increase will affect an existing member, we will give reasonable advance notice before the new price applies to their subscription.
Where applicable, you will have the opportunity to cancel before the new price takes effect.
18. Suspending or Ending Membership
We may suspend or terminate access to HiRec if:
• Subscription payments remain unpaid
• You seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms
• You misuse HiRec resources or intellectual property
• You share access in a way that is not permitted
• We reasonably believe the account is being used fraudulently or unlawfully
Where appropriate, we will give you an opportunity to resolve the issue before terminating your membership.
We may act immediately where there is fraud, serious misuse, unlawful activity or another serious reason requiring urgent action.
If we end your membership when you have not breached these Terms, we will deal fairly with any payment made for a period of service that we will no longer provide.
19. Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any statutory rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded.
If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are not affected.
If you purchase HiRec wholly or mainly for business purposes, HiRec Ltd will not be responsible for indirect or consequential business losses, loss of profit, loss of revenue, loss of business opportunity or loss of anticipated savings arising from your use of HiRec, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
HiRec is not responsible for decisions made solely on the basis of general information where the circumstances reasonably require individual professional advice.
Consumer law restricts businesses from using terms that unfairly exclude responsibility or create a significant imbalance against consumers, which is why this section deliberately preserves statutory rights rather than trying to apply a blanket exclusion. GOV.UK
20. Third Party Services
HiRec may use or link to third party services, websites or technology.
Those services may have their own terms and privacy policies.
We are not responsible for third party websites or services that we do not control.
21. Privacy and Cookies
We process personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Our use of cookies and similar technologies is explained in our Cookie Policy.
These policies are available on the HiRec website.
22. Complaints
We want to resolve problems fairly and promptly.
If you have a complaint about HiRec, your membership or a payment, please contact us at:
Please provide enough information for us to understand the issue and investigate it.
We will aim to acknowledge your complaint promptly and respond within a reasonable period.
Nothing in this section affects any statutory rights or remedies available to you.
23. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms where reasonably necessary, for example because of changes to HiRec, applicable law, regulatory requirements or the services we provide.
If a change materially affects an existing membership, we will provide reasonable advance notice where appropriate.
The latest version will be available on the HiRec website and the date at the top will show when it was last updated.
24. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer, you retain any mandatory rights relating to jurisdiction that apply to you under consumer law.
If you purchase HiRec wholly or mainly for business purposes, the courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction in relation to disputes arising from these Terms.
